My client are a specialist steel contractor with over 20 years of expertise specialising in structural steel solutions. The company has rapidly expanded, gaining an excellent client base throughout the UK.
They have worked on a wide range of projects ranging from large-scale developments to smaller schemes, with subcontract values of up to 2m.
They are now recruiting for a Steel Estimator to join their business and work on a range of projects across the North West.
As an Estimator, your role will involve:
- Reviewing agreed tenders, analysing specifications, and designs to complete take offs
- Calculating the cost of materials, labour, and prelims
- Obtaining quotes from specialist or named suppliers
- Communication with clients to manage needs and expectations
- Visiting prospective sites to support tender bids
- Liaising closely with others team members within the company to compile a tender return or bid
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating, ideally within a similar industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
