Maintenance Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our clients growing team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of their plant equipment and machinery, minimising downtime and optimising productivity.

You’ll be involved in diagnosing and resolving breakdowns, leading maintenance improvement projects, and ensuring all equipment runs efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Diagnose and resolve machinery and equipment breakdowns quickly and efficiently.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects, from small Kaizen initiatives to large capital investments.
  • Perform planned maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and maintain productivity.
  • Install, relocate, and modify equipment and machinery as required.
  • Repair, replace, and refurbish mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inventory.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to coordinate maintenance activities and minimise disruption.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve complex maintenance issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Experience with maintenance of machine tools and CNC equipment.
  • Ability to identify, document, and implement process improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant qualification (NVQ, ONC, C&G, HNC, HND) with an appropriate apprenticeship.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a maintenance/engineering environment.
  • Exposure to machine tool maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
