My client design and manufacture a range of products and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Engineering Manager / Design Manager, on a permanent basis, near Liverpool.

The Mechanical Design Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Degree qualification or similar in Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience managing or leading a small team of more Junior Design Engineers
  • Hands on mechanical design experience
  • Be proficient with using ideally SolidWorks CAD software
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Any FEA / mechanical analysis skills would be desirable
  • And knowledge of pneumatics would be desirable
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent problem solving skills
The Mechanical Design Manager role will involve:
  • Leading a team of Mechanical Design Engineers
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Being involved in managing project deadlines and timelines
  • Helping to develop the engineering department
  • Hands on mechanical design too using SolidWorks
  • Overseeing product development
  • Driving continuous improvement at all times
  • Helping solve any technical problems that come up during projects
