About the Role:We are partnering with a leading Switchgear service business to recruit a Field Service Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer with a background in electrical or mechanical systems to join a dynamic team. As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a key role in servicing, maintaining, and upgrading Switchgear and associated systems across the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field customer enquiries and provide technical support, advice, and quotations for service-related work.
  • Undertake pre-mobilisation tasks such as risk assessments and method statements.
  • Perform service and maintenance on Switchgear, including upgrades, life extensions, protection relay testing, and breakdown repairs.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to both at customer sites and within the company's operations.
  • Participate in out-of-hours call-out service when required.
  • Complete all required reports, expense claims, and necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Lead field assignments when working with subcontractors.
  • Promote excellent customer service and represent the company with professionalism.

Requirements:

  • Experience in electrical or mechanical engineering with a focus on Switchgear systems.
  • Ideally, time-served apprenticeship in electrical engineering or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum ONC level qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with technical report writing and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of switchgear operation, maintenance, and fault-finding.
  • Experience working offshore or in marine environments is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a systematic approach to tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritising tasks effectively.

Additional Information:

  • 37.5 hours per week.
  • Salary range: £30,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
  • OTE (On-Target Earnings) potential.
  • Travel, accommodation, and fuel expenses covered.
  • Shift work, including overseas and night shifts, with applicable rates.
