Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Phonics Intervention Specialist to join our Early Years team in January 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering targeted phonics interventions to support early literacy development. You will support students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis. Working with Early Years to introduce phonics and Year 1 to support with the Phonics Screening Test.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver effective phonics interventions tailored to the needs of Early Years students.
  • Work one-on-one and in small groups with children to improve their phonics skills.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate phonics strategies into daily lessons.
  • Assess student's progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student's development and provide feedback to parents and teachers.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that supports student's confidence and engagement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in teaching phonics, particularly in Early Years or Key Stage 1 settings.
  • Strong understanding of phonics programs and early literacy development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for supporting young children's learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
