About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with a minimum of five years' experience in mechanical design, particularly within the defence, aerospace, or space sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge actuator technologies, contributing to the design, development, and optimisation of high-performance systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design and development of actuators and related components.
  • Produce detailed 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Conduct structural, thermal, and tolerance analysis to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and software engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance product reliability and manufacturability.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in mechanical design, preferably in defence, aerospace, or space applications.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Siemens NX).
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural and thermal simulations.
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards (such as MIL-STD, AS9100, ECSS, or equivalent).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
