About the Company:A leading and growing accountancy practice based in Preston is looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join their team. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant looking to take on more responsibility and work with a diverse portfolio of clients. The Role:As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing client relationships, and providing technical expertise. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements for a wide range of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as the key point of contact for all accounting and compliance matters.
  • Supporting clients with tax planning and offering business advisory services where necessary.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior members of staff, providing guidance and review of their work.
  • Maintaining regular communication with clients, addressing any queries and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in accounting legislation and tax regulations.
  • Working closely with partners and managers to deliver high-quality service and meet client expectations.
  • Identifying opportunities to offer additional services to clients, enhancing their financial performance and compliance.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, including FRS 102 and FRS 105.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements and management accounts.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff is highly desirable.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
