About the Company:A leading accountancy practice in Preston is seeking an enthusiastic and driven External Audit and Accounts Semi Senior to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant or an ambitious trainee looking to develop their skills in both audit and accounts. The Role:As an External Audit and Accounts Semi Senior, you will work across a diverse portfolio of clients, assisting in audit assignments, preparing financial statements, and providing business advisory services. You will work closely with senior team members and clients, gaining hands-on experience and responsibility while progressing toward qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the planning, execution, and completion of audit assignments for a range of clients.
  • Preparing statutory financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
  • Conducting fieldwork during audit assignments, including testing and documenting audit findings.
  • Liaising with clients to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services.
  • Supporting senior team members with ad hoc accounting tasks and projects.
  • Assisting in identifying areas for improvement in clients’ financial processes and providing recommendations.
  • Managing your workload to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in audit and accounting regulations.
  • Progressing towards ACA/ACCA qualification with the support of the firm.

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) or currently studying towards qualification.
  • At least 2 years' experience in an accountancy practice, with exposure to audit and accounts preparation.
  • Knowledge of UK accounting standards and audit regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with accounting and audit software such as CaseWare, Xero, Sage, or similar.
  • A proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required.
