Financial Controller - Preston

Location: PrestonSalary: £60,000 dependent on experience

Agility are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller to join our dynamic team in Preston. This pivotal role is key to helping the company meet its profit and performance targets through insightful financial management and strategic decision-making. As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the finance function while also taking a leading role in HR and procurement, making this a truly varied and impactful position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cash Management: Ensure effective management of company cash, balancing the need to meet liabilities while retaining sufficient funds for reinvestment.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee accurate and timely weekly and monthly management reporting, providing valuable insights and recommendations to the Board of Directors.
  • Budgeting: Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with the company's financial goals.
  • External Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with funders and other external stakeholders, ensuring smooth operations and communication.
  • Sales & Purchase Ledger Management: Oversee the management of the sales and purchase ledger, ensuring timely collection of debts and efficient supplier relationship management.
  • Payroll: Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all staff.
  • Procurement: Drive cost-effective procurement of goods and services, optimizing business expenses.
  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure the company meets all statutory requirements, including Companies House and HMRC returns and payments, as well as liaising with external auditors.

Your expertise in financial management will be matched by your ability to coach and develop financial understanding across the business.
