Butler Rose Public Practice are pleased to be working with a very modern firm of accountants based in Preston, who are looking to add an experienced Client Manager / Senior Accountant to their team. This firm pride themselves on their service to their clients, they are a small firm of around 15 staff who are all very friendly.

The role

  • The candidate would be responsible for a client bank of 150-200 clients and would need to demonstrate an ability to handle and balance this workload whilst maintaining excellent communication levels with the clients and delegating matters to the team as appropriate
  • Preparation / review of annual accounts for all sizes of businesses/charities
  • Preparation of management accounts at monthly / quarterly intervals for growing clients
  • Preparation of complex VAT returns using the various different scheme available
  • Preparation of Corporation tax and Income tax computations and returns
  • Managing, training and providing support / feedback for junior staff
  • Promotion of the firm's services where possible including representing the firm at business networking / other events
  • Actively developing and proactively contributing to a professional working environment

Ideal Experience:

  • ACA / ACCA Qualified account with strong practice experience
  • Ideally at least 2-3 years post qualified and has experience of reviewing prepared accounts files and tax returns and managing the client relationship.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Financial reporting, Corporation tax, VAT, Income tax and IT matters.
  • Be able to easily respond to common SME tax planning queries, such as; Incorporation / Disincorporation, Remuneration planning, VAT registration matters, Employment matters including share based incentives, Company reorganisations including inserting a holding company above a trading group
  • Excellent working knowledge of Xero, Quickbooks, Taxcalc, Microsoft Excel (very important)
