Your new firmThis is a well renowned, growing chartered accountancy firm with over 40 years of establishment located in Preston. As a firm that consistently offers a high quality service to their clients, they pride themselves on their supportive and successful reputation, offering services in accounting, bookkeeping, VAT, taxation, compliance and consultancy and more. They support a portfolio of clients covering the north-west, with regional clients as well, predominantly in the SME and limited companies market. Due to continuous growth and new work, a senior accountant position has arisen.Your new roleYou will be joining a team of 12 other accounts professionals, reporting into the managing partner daily, to continue the success of the accounts team. Day to day duties will see you managing a portfolio of SME and limited company clients, where you will oversee the accounts' preparation, bookkeeping and VAT returns, dealing with their queries and assisting them daily. As you will be reporting in to the partner, you will be preparing accounts for their review, whilst overseeing junior members of the team, supporting them and reviewing their work. Your role will also see you prepare both basic personal and corporate tax computations / returns. You will be able to really further your practice experience and knowledge here, whilst also having the opportunity to oversee a team beneath you. What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will need to be either a qualified, QBE or finalist accountant in your professional qualifications, either ACCA or ACA. It is necessary you have a minimum of 4 years previous practice experience, where you have worked on statutory accounts, bookkeeping and VAT. Prior experience using accounting softwares such as Sage, Xero or Quickbooks is also desired.What you'll get in returnIn return, you will be offered a competitive salary ranging between £30,000 to £35,000, depending upon your experience.
