New Vacancy: Adele Carr Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a growing SME organisation in Burscough, who are keen to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant on a full time, permanent basis.

Following a restructure, the Finance Director has created a new role for the department. Essentially, you will provide much needed support to the FD and senior leadership team. The ideal applicant will be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA), who is familiar with producing financial accounts, balance sheet, VAT, treasury.

You will have 2 direct reports and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded for month end, providing training, direction and support to the team.

You will be a self motivated individual with exceptional technical skills who can work with minimal supervision. Taking ownership of controls, producing accurately financial reports and insight to the performance of the company.

This is a role for you to make your own, ensuring controls are robust and fit for purpose. Experience of working in a growing SME environment and leading year end audit would be advantageous.

Note: Applicants who are actively studying and are at finalist level will be considered.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Being a pivotal member of the team whilst providing technical, financial support to the Finance Director
  • Supervising a team of two, ensuring best practice, training and delegation of workloads
  • Produce accurate financial reports and financial analysis
  • Treasury, manage all bank transactions and working capital
  • Lead year end audit
  • Produce VAT returns, Tax
  • Ensuring appropriate processes and controls exist and are maintained to protect the financial assets of the business
  • Maintain all relations with external stakeholders and statutory authoritiies, HMRC, Bank, Auditors, etc

The ideal applicant, will be:

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA), seeking a permanent job
  • An experienced accountant with a proven track record, working in an SME environment
  • A pro-active, resilient and self-motivated individual who enjoys being 'hands on'.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills who enjoys working collaboratively across the various teams
  • Experience of Sage with strong MS Excel skills.
