Senior Tax Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our highly respected Accountancy Practice client. This role primarily involves tax compliance and advisory work for both individuals and businesses.

The ideal candidate will be technically minded with strong attention to detail, a problem-solving mind-set and commercial understanding and good technical skills and knowledge in UK tax (both UK and International aspects)

You will also have a genuine interest in understanding the clients’ businesses with the drive to deliver exceptional client service and identify tax planning opportunities.

Duties will include:

  • Meet with clients to go through final accounts, pre-year-end tax planning meetings.
  • Be responsible for tasks which could range from reviewing and completion of personal, partnership and trust tax returns and computations.
  • Completing special assignments and/or ad-hoc projects as required by the managers/partners
  • Offer tax advice to clients including the preparation of tax reports/memorandums and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Provide tax planning and structuring advice to the firm’s UK and International clients.
  • Advise clients on UK residence, domicile matters and pre-arrival tax planning opportunities
  • Provide inheritance tax advice and capital gains tax advice.
  • Assisting clients with HMRC tax enquiries and other tax matters

Key qualifications and experience needed:

  • Qualified Accountant or CTA Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Extensive experience of individual and corporate partner taxation and related accounting.
  • Highly organised with an eye for efficiencies and improvements.
  • Ability to work independently to research and provide advice on technical tax matters coupled with forward planning skills.
  • Hard working, flexible and willing to undertake ad hoc projects and duties within a small team.
