Square Peg Associates are working with a highly customer-centric Accountancy Practice, who is recruiting a Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant based in Preston. They are seeking a professional and experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to process external clients’ accounts. This will mainly be using cloud based software Xero / Quickbooks / Sage.
The role is office based and 9am - 5pm. Option of 4 or 5 working days.
Salary is negotiable, dependent upon the level of experience, up to £30 - £32k per annum.
Duties & Responsibilities of a Bookkeeper:
- Responsibility of managing a portfolio of clients for all bookkeeping, and accounts processing services.
- Preparation of accounts to trial balance
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and submissions
- Bank reconciliations, Purchase ledger and Sales Ledger
- CIS Returns
- Customer service, answering customer queries with confidence with the support of the team
Experience required of a Bookkeeper:
- Experience in a similar Bookkeeping / Accounts Assistant role
- Must have experience of working in an Accountancy Practice
- Ability to work solely with minimum supervision
- A personable, customer driven, people person
- Have a positive can-do attitude
- Have a passion to go the extra mile to support client queries
- Qualified by Experience or have an Accountancy Qualification
