We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Student Services and SIMS Manager to join our Student Services team at one of our high schools based in Preston. This is a full-time, temporary position with the potential to become permanent. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing first-line support to assist student queries and managing the SIMS database.Your new role

  • Maintain and manage the SIMS database.
  • Handling student attendance, liaising with the Attendance Manager for students who remain unaccounted for, sending alerts to parents, and monitoring responses.
  • Assist with administration, data extraction, and timetabling changes.
  • Manage the planning and development of student support services.
  • Complete and submit DfE Statutory census returns.
  • Performing administrative duties for student events such as parent's evenings and career events.
  • Manage the administration for Year 7 or in-year transitions, including creating and distributing new starter packs, liaising with feeder schools, and attending Year 6 transition events.
  • Organise and administer student support services, including student lockers, lunch passes, detentions, lost property, subject enquiries and absence requests.
  • Creating and preparing the academic year and closing, inputting student information, and creating reports and timetables as required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience with SIMS is ideal but not essential.
  • Experience of working in a similar role within an educational setting is essential.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
  • Proficiency in data management and extraction.
