My client is a well established and very successful industrial concrete floor sub-contractor based near Preston, They are looking for a Structural Engineer to join their in-house design team. They are one of the largest and most experienced contractors of their type in the UK and have a full order book going forward.
This role will see you working as the senior member of the design team, designing varied ground floor slab solutions.
Key Duties include the following:
•         Produce calculations, models, reports, and presentations to a high standard.
•         Presenting your designs at internal workshops and chairing external meetings with clients and external consultants when required.
•         Coordinating your work with other members of the team and contributing to design team meetings
•         Communicating with the operations team keeping them up to date of design changes
•         Mentoring and assisting trainees and less experienced Engineers.
Your Skills & Experience should include:
•         Design knowledge, from working on a wide range of projects and using British and European codes of practice
•         Ability to produce drawings using AutoCAD
•         Experience using common analysis software (including or similar to CSC Fastrak, TEDDS, ROBOT, ETABS and SAFE) and willing to quickly learn to use new analysis packages as required.
•         Be a Chartered Member of the ICE or IStructE with the Engineering Council UK or equivalent body.
•         A Bachelor’s degree BEng / BSc or Master’s degree MEng / MSc in a relevant discipline.
•         Drivers Licence
What is on offer:
•     To 45 K or daily rate option.
•         Company Car
•         22 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
Hours;
•         Full-time 40 hours per week
•         Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00 with an hour for lunch.
This is a great opportunity for a Structural Engineer with at least 3-5 years experience to join a well established and recognised contractor in providing design solutions in a niche construction sector.
There is also the possibility that my client can employ a freelance Structural Engineer and assist them in setting up a consultancy within the field.
