Class 2 Tanker Driver / Jet Vac Tanker Driver & Drainage Engineer

Location: Preston (with travel to various sites as required)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM 5:00 PM (with occasional evening, weekend, and overtime work as needed)


Driver Hire Preston are looking for a Class 2 Tanker driver to work on a fulltime basis for our client. They are a leading provider of drainage and waste management services, committed to delivering exceptional solutions to their clients. They are looking for an experienced Class 2 HGV Tanker Driverto join their team based in Preston. Job Overview:

As a Class 2 Tanker Driver / Jet Vac Tanker Driver, you will play a key role in delivering a range of essential services to both new and existing clients. This includes operating a Jet Vac tanker for liquid waste removal and disposal, providing high-pressure water jetting services, assisting with CCTV drain surveys, and carrying out general drain and sewer work. You will be expected to maintain high standards of safety and quality while ensuring customer satisfaction.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Tanker Operations: Safely operate a Class 2 Jet Vac tanker for liquid waste removal and disposal.
  • High Pressure Water Jetting: Perform high-pressure water jetting to clear blockages and clean drains and sewers.
  • CCTV Drain Surveys: Assist with CCTV drain inspections, providing technical support as needed.
  • Drainage Services: Carry out general drain and sewer maintenance, including repairs and clearing blockages, ensuring effective and efficient solutions.
  • Client Communication: Establish and maintain strong working relationships with both new and existing clients, keeping them informed throughout the service delivery process.
  • Teamwork & Problem Solving: Work alongside other engineers and support staff, using a problem-solving approach to address drainage issues and challenges.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all company HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) policies and procedures, as well as relevant industry regulations.
  • Travel & Yard Access: Travel to Preston Yard and client sites as required.


Required Skills & Experience:
  • Class 2 UK Driving License (Clean and valid).
  • Ideally some tanker experience.
  • Experience with high-pressure water jetting and general drainage work (desired but not essential)
  • Ability to assist with CCTV drain surveys and general drain and sewer maintenance.
  • Can-do attitude with strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, maintaining a professional and positive approach.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required (not a deal-breaker but flexibility needed).
  • Ideally, hold a CSCS Card for access to construction sites (must be valid)
  • A Water Jetting Card (WJA) would be a strong advantage.
  • A solid commitment to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) practices.


Additional Information:
  • Uniform will be provided.
  • The working schedule is typically Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, but the nature of the role may require flexibility for evening, weekend, and overtime work.
