Package: £35,000 - £40,000 basic pa + 25 days holiday + Bank holidays + Pension scheme 11% (combined) + Life Assurance 4 x Salary + Group Dependant Plan 45% of salary + Permanent health insurance (critical illness) paid 50% of monthly salary!
Hours:Days role- 40hrs p/wk Mon-Fri (free parking on site)

Position Overview
The Chemical Scientist has the primary responsibility for conducting research tasks coordinated by more experienced scientists and managers.Evaluation of new raw materials, alternative sources of existing raw materials, development of new products based on customer needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
You will be involved in a variety of research,developmentand technical service activities, including:
- Conducting and analysing experiments on organic and inorganic substances todetermineand evaluate their chemical and physical properties and to investigate their applications to industry. Carrying out experiments to improve upon or to duplicate materials and substances and engaging in research toidentifynew methods of processing or production.
- Appling and interpreting standard scientific theories,conceptsand techniques.
- Completing basic projects independently, drawing conclusions with guidance, and reproducing and articulating results and their meaning, including business impact.
- Supporting product or process demonstrations.
- Identifyingand developing solutions to problems where causal relationships can beidentifiedand some precedence may exist.
- Documenting test results and making process improvement recommendations.
- Documenting project updates and executing projects using project management methodologies.
- Fulfilling responsibilities as required by the Quality System for the site/business unit.
- Working in a safe and efficient manner.
MinimumRequirements:
- BachelorsDegreein Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and minimum2 yearexperience formulating products
- Demonstrated understanding and application of business basics, including value propositions
- SAP experience
- Good Communication Skills

- Demonstratesproficiencyin the following competencies:
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Material Science
- Knowledge of rubber industry
- Knowledge of rubber to metal bonding
- minimum2 yearexperience formulating, ideally in the adhesive, rubber,paintsor coatings industry
