Experienced IT Manager/Analyst required with a broad technical background, responsible for day-to-day IT management and supporting the Head of IT during a time of considerable change for our financial services client. You will support changes and implement tactical initiatives to the infrastructure and applications on an as-need basis, to help maximise usage of technology to meet customer requirements. This role is offered as a 15 month fixed term contract.

IT Manager/Analyst - Key Skills and Experience:-

  • Systematic problem-solving skills and the ability to implement solutions to solve root cause of problems
  • Strong business and technical skills in all operational areas
  • Knowledge of SQL, Oracle and Solaris
  • Knowledge of Financial Services sector and applicable systems
  • Knowledge of the following core technologies:
  • Microsoft Windows Server (all versions)
  • Microsoft Windows Desktops (all versions)
  • Firewalls, routing and networking
  • Active Directory - DNS, DHCP, WINS, Group Policy, DFS
  • Excellent communication skills, relationship and stakeholder management
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Project management principles and awareness
  • Leadership skills and capabilities
  • Technology evaluation, recommendation and implementation knowledge
  • Appreciation of regulatory environment and business impact

IT Analyst - Responsibilities:

  • Work with key IT Vendors to support key technology platforms in terms of service delivery and to ensure they meet the changing needs of the business in line with regulatory requirements and change
  • Stand-in and deputise for the Head of IT and IT Systems Analyst as necessary during a programme of Core Systems Migration including the control and resolution of escalated issues of existing production systems.
  • To be a 'second pair of hands’ in managing escalated issues and activities and to undertake people management in supporting the Head of IT.
  • Working in liaison with the Application Support Specialist to assist to manage and support key changes the company business platform
  • Work with, and assist the network infrastructure team in the procurement, build, installation, administration and support of IT infrastructure (Servers, PCs, Networks, Telephone systems)
