Purpose of the Job:

Our client is a highly reputable Company within the cleaning and security services division, and have been operating since 1992. They are currently looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their growing team. As Business Development Manager, you will be required to generate new business and create and maintain effective working relationships with those at all levels. As part of the Business Development Manager role, you will also be responsible for communicating, negotiating and influencing decision making at various levels.

Role Description:

The main focus of this role is to generate new business, creating and maintaining longstanding working relationships, creating a networking plan, expanding on pre-qualifications and tendering bids from initial start through to high level presentations and proposals in order to generate and maintain new business.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate and win new business that impacts the business in a positive way

  • Create a networking plan

  • Expand on pre-qualifications

  • Tender bids from start to finish, securing and maintaining new business

  • Lead the delivery of the sector-based sales strategy

  • Develop and maintain multi-level working relationships

  • Create a development plan to ensure your Company is the go-to for opportunities within core markets

  • You will be required to travel nationally on a frequent basis

  • Secure growth targets, revenue and implementation of a growth strategy

  • Provide value solutions to future customers while retaining current business

  • Build a strong network and pipeline of opportunities

  • Liaise with Operations Team to manage retention

  • Cross-sell additional service lines

  • Network within target sectors

  • Attend networking events where necessary

  • Deliver on all KPIs in all areas of your role

  • Be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of others and comply with Health and Safety regulations at all times

  • Must hold a high level of confidentiality at all times

  • Must comply with the Data Protection Act and GDPR regulations at all times

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Be smart and well presented at all times

  • Excellent organisation skills

  • Have knowledge of cleaning methods and technology

  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills

  • Have experience of working in the FM industry

  • Customer service is a priority

  • Be able to work to deadlines and possess excellent time management skills

  • Be polite and helpful with a positive attitude
