As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in a dynamic international sales team, spearheading the growth of the business. Your focus will be on enhancing our Clients' presence within the industrial sector, selling contract-manufactured injection-moulded and blow-moulded plastics components, general packaging, and traffic management solutions with a focus on the UK market.

As a Business Development Manager, your role is multifaceted and exciting. You will dive into comprehensive market research to uncover potential clients, industry trends, and competitive insights, using this data to craft impactful business strategies. You will also connect with potential customers, building relationships, offering customised solutions, and ensuring top-notch customer satisfaction. Your journey will involve strategic sales planning, revenue generation, innovative collaboration on packaging solutions, skillful negotiation of terms, and the crucial task of providing insightful reports on sales performance and market trends to drive future revenue growth. This dynamic position promises a blend of strategy, relationship-building, and innovation, making it a rewarding opportunity for growth and impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.
  • Analyse market data to develop effective business strategies.
  • Identify and target prospective customers within the Automotive, industrial, and healthcare markets.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential customers.
  • Develop sustained business-to-business relationships by proactively pursuing leads.
  • Understand customer needs and work with the technical services team to propose customized solutions.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and drive a customer-focused culture.
  • Develop sales plans aligned with the company’s growth and financial objectives.
  • Convert leads to revenue-generating accounts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative packaging solutions.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with customers.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and business development activities and forecast future revenue growth.

Requirements:

  • Ideally hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven Sales or Business Development experience in selling contract-manufactured solutions of plastics, packaging, injection, or blow moulded components.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of plastic packaging technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes (inc. Injection Moulding, Blow Moulding, Compression Molding, thermo forming)
  • Have a working knowledge of quality systems, including ISO 13485 and/or ISO 15378.
  • Exhibit excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be results-oriented with a track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Possess the ability to work collaboratively within a team and build relationships based on trust.

Salary: Circa £50,000 - £70,000 Base Salary PA - Negotiable on experience
