Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a civil / structural technician to support one of our nuclear clients based out of Whitehaven or Preston in the following work:

  • Working in a team with experienced engineers and technicians
  • This is a full-time, permanent position, based in either our Whitehaven or Preston office, with

potential working from home by mutual agreement as per Westlakes informal Working at
Home Policy.

  • Assisting with, or carrying out, site inspections and surveys
  • Preparing drawings from feasibility through to detailed design and construction using Revit,

AutoCAD and SketchUp

  • The design/assessment of structures for a wide range of nuclear and other projects.

Qualifications Required

  • HNC/D in Civil Engineering or equivalent Skills/Experience & Behaviours- Essential
  • Interest in the design of the built environment, a desire to learn and be challenged
  • Good experience of Revit, AutoCAD & SketchUp
  • Good experience of steelwork fabrication drawings
  • Good numerical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The aptitude to work on your own initiative and be proactive
  • Planned and organised approach to work and meeting deadlines
  • Commitment to the successful delivery of projects and meeting the needs of our clients.
  • A full drivers licence

Skills/Experience & Behaviours- Desirable

  • Experience of working in the nuclear industry
  • Experience of working in the water industry
  • Preparing RC detail drawings
