Housing Maintenance Operative Preston Social Housing Permanent Contract Full Time £25,000 to £35,000 Join a trusted Housing Association as a Housing Maintenance Operative in Preston, ensuring properties and HMOs are maintained to a high standard while supporting tenant safety and comfort. THE ROLE This is a full-time, hands-on role involving responsive repairs and general maintenance across Housing Association properties and HMOs.

  • Carry out responsive repairs, including plumbing, electrical work, joinery, painting, and decorating.
  • Inspect properties to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship to maintain tenant satisfaction.
  • Address boiler-related issues where applicable.
  • Accurately document completed tasks and report any significant findings.
  • Manage tools and materials efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain professionalism and clear communication with tenants and staff.

THE CANDIDATE We are looking for a multi-skilled professional with prior experience in property maintenance or a similar role.

  • Proven track record in responsive repairs, ideally in a housing or HMO setting.
  • Competence in plumbing, electrical work, joinery, and general repairs.
  • Boiler knowledge is highly beneficial.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
  • Own tools for work (essential).

THE CONTRACT

  • Full Time: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (37.5 hours).
  • Permanent Contract.
  • Salary: £25,000.00 to £35,000.00 per year, plus benefits.
