Senior Architectural Technician - residential house building

About the Company:

Our client is a premier 5-Star homebuilder known for creating beautifully designed, high-quality homes throughout various regional business units.

With a strong commitment to excellence and innovation, they are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Architectural Technician to join their dynamic team at their Lancashire regional unit.

Job Summary:

The Design Manager will oversee the architectural design and planning process for residential developments. This role involves managing design projects from initial concept through to completion, ensuring that all projects meet the high standards of quality and sustainability expected by the company and the wider industry.

You'll provide legal and technical advice to various departments, dealing with site construction issues & have input on land viability studies.

You'll undertake production, review and approval of site layouts, house type working drawings, construction details, deed plans and master deeds.

Additionally you will;

  • Liaise with Consultants, Contractors, Local Authority and Planning Officers
  • Prepare contract documents
  • Produce and issue drawings
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with other regional technical departments to deliver improvements and efficiencies in shared design solutions
  • Update our senior management team on house type and detail changes
  • Assist with the preparation of health and safety documentation
  • Prepare and collate details for the discharge of planning conditions

Requirements & qualifications;

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a design management or Architectural role within the residential construction industry.
  • Ability to review technical reports and identify abnormal constraints
  • Ability to identify cost effective solutions and liaise with relevant statutory bodies to achieve approval.
  • Ability to provide accurate and detailed reports.
  • Sound knowledge of current building regulations and NHBC standards.
  • Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) is advantageous.
