Job Title: Credit Controller
Location: Preston Area
Salary: 25,750 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Overview:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller on behalf of our client, a well-established organisation within the food distribution industry. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic finance team within a fast-paced and customer-focused business.

The Role:
You will be responsible for managing a section of the sales ledger, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, maintaining customer relationships, and contributing to the overall financial health of the business. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator with solid experience in credit control and a proactive approach to account management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive cash collection and account management
  • Handling incoming and outgoing customer calls
  • Investigating and resolving account queries
  • Issuing statements and customer correspondence
  • Processing daily and weekly banking
  • Allocating receipts and reconciling accounts
  • Monitoring credit limits and new applications
  • Maintaining accurate customer master files
  • Collaborating with internal teams, including sales and finance
  • Escalating potential bad debts and issues to management
  • Supporting credit reviews and recommendations

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in credit control
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Confident telephone manner and customer-focused attitude
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Willingness to adapt to changing business needs

Desirable:

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Dynamics
  • Previous experience within the distribution or FMCG sector
