1:1 Support Teaching Assistant
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting children with additional needs? We are seeking a 1:1 Support TA to work with a non-verbal pupil who requires personalised support, including nappy changing and assistance with daily learning activities. The child is working at a much lower level and requires a patient, nurturing, and proactive individual to help them engage and progress in a supportive learning environment. This is a long-term position with an immediate start.
Responsibilities:- Preparation of resources and activities for 1:1 support tailored to the child's needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and SENCO to organise appropriate activities.
- Liaise with other professionals such as teachers, TAs, and specialist support staff.
- Work closely with LSAs and support staff.
- Provide 1:1 support, working within small groups and classes when required.
- Monitor and track the development of the pupil, supporting their personal development and confidence.
- Experience working with young people in an educational or care setting.
- Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
- Ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people.
- Be creative, proactive, and flexible in your supporting style.
- Have experience with SEN or knowledge of learning difficulties.
- TA qualified.
