Full-time Teaching Assistant -

The Pay for the role is £14.18 per hour and is 8.45am to 3.15pm Monday to Friday full time.

REED/LTA are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a Preston based primary school to support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) who have high needs. This role requires a compassionate individual with a good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and specific training or awareness in areas such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), communication needs, and trauma.

Day-to-day of the role:

Provide targeted support to high needs children in EYFS, working closely with them on a 1:1 basis to facilitate their learning and development.
Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that meets the individual needs of children.
Implement personalised learning activities and strategies under the guidance of the lead teacher to support the educational and social development of the children.
Provide support during lunchtime to ensure a safe and positive environment for all children.
Collaborate with other staff members to plan and coordinate efforts to maximise student success.
Monitor and record children’s progress, sharing observations with teachers and parents to better support the children’s needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role, preferably within an EYFS setting.
Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and its implementation.
Training or understanding in ASD, communication needs, and trauma.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with children, staff, and parents.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
A compassionate and patient approach with a strong commitment to enhancing children’s educational experiences.
