REED/LTA are looking to recruit for a Nursery Class Teaching Assistant at a friendly primary school in Preston. This role is perfect for an individual with a passion for early childhood education and a desire to contribute positively to the development of young children.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Assist in the daily management and teaching of the nursery class, ensuring a safe and stimulating educational environment.
  • Support the lead teacher in delivering the curriculum and engaging activities that promote early learning and development.
  • Help to prepare teaching materials and resources, and set up equipment needed for daily activities.
  • Monitor children’s progress and participate in the assessment of their developmental milestones.
  • Engage with children during lessons and playtime to encourage learning through play.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding their children’s progress and any concerns.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold a relevant Early Years qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development, Early Years Educator, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in an early years setting, preferably within a nursery or preschool environment.
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and its application in the classroom.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of nurturing strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A patient, caring, and creative approach to teaching and childcare.
