SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Longridge Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant School Hours: 08:30 - 14:30 Type: Full-Time & Part-Time Salary: Competitive, based on experience Prospero Teaching are working with a leading SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Longridge, committed to providing exceptional education and support to students aged 11-16. Their inclusive environment fosters growth, learning, and development for all our students. We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to support the diverse student body. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, ensuring their individual requirements are met. Assist in the implementation of Education Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) and behavior management strategies. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Monitor and report on student progress, adapting support strategies as needed. Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and independence. Requirements: Previous experience working as an SEMH TA or in a similar role. Knowledge of various SEMH needs and strategies to support them. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with SEMH needs. Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH support (desirable).
