Sonic Summary

Prospero is seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide support for individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviors related to social, emotional, and mental health issues.
Candidates should have some experience working with children displaying challenging behavior, and experience in de-escalation training is advantageous.
The position is based in Preston, starting in January 2025, and is full-time with hours from 08:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The minimum salary for this role is £95 per day, depending on experience, and candidates must hold the right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS certificate.

Prospero are currently looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to deliver person centred support to individuals who present high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with social, emotional and mental health issues.

The candidate must have:

· Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour· Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous· The school would also consider candidates from youth work backgrounds, or similar roles· Confidence to make decisions· Excellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with the students· Empathy and understanding· Willingness to enhance skills with professional training and development
