Role and Responsibilities:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pupils' educational and personal development. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting teachers in delivering tailored educational programs.
  • Providing one-on-one support to pupils, helping them with academic tasks and social interactions.
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies and supporting pupils' emotional well-being.
  • Assisting with personal care tasks when necessary.
  • Encouraging and facilitating communication and social skills development.
  • Monitoring and recording pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Creating a safe and engaging learning environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Passion for working with children and young people with SEND, particularly those with ASD.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of our pupils.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are advantageous but not essential.
