Position: Teaching Assistant Year 1/2

The Role:

A primary school in the Garstang area are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the team, supporting their Year 1/2 class. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a vibrant and welcoming school environment, helping children to achieve their full potential.

This position is to start immediately, subject to reference and DBS checks on a long term basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Assisting pupils with their learning on a one-to-one or small-group basis.
  • Preparing classroom materials and resources.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and ensuring the welfare and safety of all children.
  • Encouraging pupils' independence and participation in activities.
  • Supporting the class teacher with administrative tasks and classroom organization.
  • Contributing to a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting is desirable.
  • A passion for education and supporting children's learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, patient, and flexible approach.
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
