About the Role:Tradewind Recruitment is excited to offer both full-time and part-time opportunities for compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) schools across West Lancashire, Skelmersdale, and Southport. In this role, you will provide valuable support to students with a range of additional learning needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning activities.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Help students with personal care, if required, in accordance with their individual needs.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
  • Build positive relationships with students to foster a sense of trust, confidence, and motivation.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young adults, particularly within SEND settings, is highly desirable.
  • A passion for supporting children with diverse needs and backgrounds.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach to problem-solving and classroom support.
  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent (desirable, but not essential).
  • A valid DBS check or the willingness to apply for one.
