Reed Education is dedicated to providing Whole School Recruitment to Secondary Schools across Cumbria & Lancashire. We are currently seeking a dynamic Teaching Assistant to join a school in Preston on a long-term basis, starting immediately. This role is ideal for someone with a strong knowledge of the curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support classroom activities, including working with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning material.
  • Assist in preparing lesson materials and resources under the direction of the lead teacher.
  • Monitor and support the progress of students at KS3 and KS4 levels; experience with KS5 is advantageous but not essential.
  • Help maintain discipline in the classroom and manage student behaviour.
  • Participate in and support the organisation of school events and activities.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and behaviour.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Recent and relevant experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in providing learning support at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to be reliable, committed, and act as a good role model for students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to be trustworthy, patient, and confident when working with children.
