Job Type: Full-time/Part-timeLocation: Preston Working Hours: 8:45 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday or Part time. 

The role is £13.43 per hour LTA / Reed Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant with proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) to support a Year 4 child with a cochlear implant.

This role is crucial in facilitating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, ensuring the pupil can fully engage and thrive in their educational journey.

Day-to-day of the role:Provide one-to-one support to a Year 4 child, particularly focusing on communication assistance through BSL.Facilitate the child's understanding of classroom material, ensuring accessibility and comprehension.Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt materials and teaching methods to meet the pupil's needs.Assist in the development of social skills and inclusion within the classroom and during school activities.Monitor and support the pupil's progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.Help create a supportive, understanding, and patient learning environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL).Experience working with children, particularly those with hearing impairments or special educational needs.Understanding of the educational needs and challenges faced by children with cochlear implants.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building rapport with young learners.Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to inclusive education.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
