Your new companyHays are working in partnership with a primary school in Preston, who are seeking a Teaching Assistant for their Year 2 class. The school is close-knit and friendly, with an established SLT and a supportive head teacher. The school is semi-rural and class sizes are manageable (up to 28 pupils). The school is easily accessible by car and public transport, with free on-site parking for staff.Your new roleIn this job role, you will be responsible for helping in both group and 1:1 setting with pupils in year 2, and this could be helping across English, Maths, Reading and Writing. Depending on the needs of the school, you may be asked to move around classes, so you will need to be flexible and approachable. It is important for you to work closely with the other teachers and TA's to ensure pupils are progressing, and that work is in line with pupil ability. You will become an integral part of the school, joining a team of TA'S who are very experienced and that you will be able to learn from.What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess recent experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting. As the schools are recruiting immediately, it would be ideal if you could jump straight into the role, however, do not let this put you off applying, as we are always receiving new roles.
