We are currently seeking a talented EC&I Engineers across the board and up to Principal level to join our team and contribute to a variety of projects in the electrical, control, and instrumentation domain. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from concept design to implementation, across multiple industries.
Role Overview: As an EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for the production of various engineering deliverables, including block cable diagrams, single line diagrams, instrument loops and hook-ups, termination drawings, control system sequence drawings, general arrangements, panel designs, instrument datasheets, and the 61508 suite of drawings. You will play a key role in electrical power distribution design, control system design, and instrument design activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
EC&I Engineer:
- Work on projects from concept design to implementation.
- Produce engineering deliverables including:
- Block cable diagrams, Single line diagrams, Instrument loops and hook-ups, Termination drawings, Control system sequence drawings, General arrangements, Panel designs, Instrument datasheets, 61508 suite of drawings
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
- Develop electrical power distribution designs.
- Design control systems and instruments.
- Prepare and check specifications.
- Generate and check commissioning documents/test plans.
- Conduct safety calculations (61508, 13849).
- Perform risk assessments and develop V&V schedules/plans.
- Consider EMC requirements: cable segregation, Faraday principle, etc.
- Compile technical files.
- Ensure compliance with the Low Voltage Directive.
- Lead small teams (3-4 people).
Senior EC&I Engineer Additional Responsibilities:
- Check and produce lighting models.
- Perform cable calculations using AMTECH.
- Develop control system documentation and EHSR checklists.
- Check all drawings and documents by the designer.
- Provide leadership experience (up to 3-4 people).
Principal EC&I Engineer Additional Responsibilities:
- Review and produce technical files.
- Understand UKCA marking and machinery directives.
- Create EMC justification statements.
- Lead larger teams (up to 6-10 people).
- Chair single discipline design reviews.
- Proven experience in a multi-discipline environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BEng) in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or related field.
Experience Required:
- Proven EC&I engineering experience.
- Strong background in electrical power distribution, control system, and instrument design.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
