As an Electrical Building Services Design Engineer within the Building Design Team of Lancashire County Councils Asset Management Service you will manage and deliver a range Electrical Building Service Engineering related projects across the authority.

You will be able to undertake the design, specification and project management of Electrical Building Service projects in a lead or support role depending on the project complexity and scale.

You will also manage external consultants who provide design services to LCC, ensuring the projects they are responsiblefor are delivered on time, within budget and to the quality expectations of LCC.

You should be able to proactively collaborate with other members of the Building Design Team, and across the Councils other disciplines, working within well-established professional procedures and defined Council policies.

You will work on a broad range of complex problems, managing challenging priorities and using professional judgement to respond to differing situations.

Duties:

Duties include:-
  • The design and specification of Electrical Building Services including LV Distribution, Power Generation, Small Power, Lighting, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarms, Nurse call, Lightning Protection, Controls etc. in accordance with current guidelines, standards and regulations.
  • Application and use of low carbon technologies including vehicle charging, PV generation, battery storage etc.
  • Lead in the Project Management and delivery of Electrical Building Service related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget to the quality expectations of LCC.
  • Support the Electrical Teams Project Manager in the effective delivery of all Building Service related projects. Manage external consultants in the delivery of projects, ensuring KPIs are met and quality is maintained.
  • The proactive liaison with other services within LCC and across other disciplines within the Building Design Team and wider Asset Management Service.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to internal / external customers, making technical / professional recommendations within the Electrical discipline.
  • Providing specialist advice and support within LCC and across other disciplines within the Building Design Team and wider Design and Construction Service.
  • Lead and / or support discussions related specifically to Electrical Building Services.
  • Supporting the Principal M&E Engineer in the delivery of all Building Services related projects.
