Electrical Generator Engineer required. Our client has over 30 years of experience installing, maintaining and repairing a huge range of high quality diesel powered generators, from 6.8kVA to 1250kVA. This is for a range of projects including Data Centres, Sports Stadiums and high end domestic/ Social housing. They are now looking for an Electrical Generator Service Engineer in the Preston/ Manchester or Cannock area due to the growth of the business.

Successful candidates will have experience in the diesel generator field installing and testing installations ranging from basic AMF to more complex peak lopping and paralleling systems. There's also UPS Service work on systems such as Riello and GE which will be required at times (95% of the work is generator based, 5% UPS)



Electrical Generator Engineer Position Overview

  • Electrical installation of all control and power cabling between the generator, changeover panels, switchboards, ancillary equipment such as fuel controls, louver controls, BMS controls etc
  • Testing of all the installation to the NICEIC requirements and recording all test results
  • On site testing of the installation to clients' specifications and any associated fault finding and modification work, including any reprogramming requirements.
  • Electrical generator servicing and maintenance at customer premises
  • Generator Load Testing and Commissioning
  • Show excellent fault-finding skills
  • Join a Call Out Rota - approx. 1 in 8 weeks


Electrical Generator Engineer Position Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience within a similar role either Generators or UPS
  • NVQ Level 3,18th Edition and 2391 highly advantageous
  • Clean Driving Licence and CRB check
  • Competence with DSE, COMAP & Woodward control panels would be an advantage.
  • Happy to join a call out rota and to stay away on the odd occasion (2 to 5 nights a month)

  • Salary: £40,000 - 45,000+ DOE
  • Working hours: 8- 5pm
  • Overtime available
