Cyber Security Engineer

Location: Preston or Frimley

Salary: Up to 47,000 with 2.5% bonus

MUST be eligible for SC Clearance.

You will be joining an expansion to an existing cyber engineering team for our globally leading defence and aerospace client. You will participate in the creation of security solutions to provide enterprise security services, and maintain, develop, and communicate their associated roadmaps and standards. This will also offer a natural progression route and the opportunity to develop further.

What you'll be doing:

• Rule creation in Data Loss Protection
• Troubleshoot Linux systems to identify and resolve technical issues
• Detect and diagnose network issues within a large network environment
• Manage and support Atlassian Stack technologies (Jira, Confluence and BitBucket)
• Supporting firewall rule reviews
• Manage systems for data collection, indexing, and analysis
• Optimise searches, reports, and dashboards for insights
• Automate tasks using scripts

Essential:

• Proficiency in Linux - configuring, managing, troubleshooting
• Data Loss Protection rules and technologies (Symantec and/or Trellix)
• Familiarity with Atlassian Stack technologies (Jira, Confluence and BitBucket)
• Ability to diagnose and escalate network issues effectively
• Experience with Firewall technologies
• Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and RegEx
