Your new companyI am partnered with a local, well established and small trust based in Preston, who are looking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer to join their team on a permanent and full time basis. This role will work closely with the CEO, supporting and leading on the growth of the organisation.

Your new roleIn your new role as CFO, your responsibilities include overseeing accounting functions and compliance with regulatory guidelines, preparing business plans for growth, and managing financial activities such as budgets, cash, assets, and liabilities. The role also involves balancing risk management with strategic decisions, fostering collaboration amongst headteachers and leaders, and leading the central finance team. Additional duties include reporting to trustees, ensuring statutory compliance, managing payroll, overseeing capital projects, and conducting due diligence for Trust expansion. Effective policy setting for procurement and contracts, as well as collaboration on financial risk and audit actions, are also key components of the role.What you'll need to succeedTo be successful for this role, you will be a fully qualified accountant, obtaining either an ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA or qualification. You will have extensive experience in preparing management and financial statutory accounts, handling payroll, and using commercial finance IT packages, particularly Microsoft Excel. You should be proficient in producing clear financial and statistical information for diverse audiences, from budget holders to board members. Key responsibilities include budget monitoring, financial modelling, contract tendering and procurement, financial management of capital projects, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The role also requires strong leadership skills, the ability to advise on financial strategy and business planning, and excellent communication and customer service skills.What you'll get in returnIn return for this, you will be offered a competitive salary of up to £80,000.
