Chief Financial Officer

£75,000 to £80,000 per annum

Accountancy Action is currently partnered with an Education specialist in order to find them a Chief Financial Officer for their senior management team. The company is entering a period of rapid growth so this is a very exciting time to join the business and be part of a rapid upscale.

Reporting to the CEO, the role will be a leadership role that requires someone with technical acumen as well as the professionalism to report to the Board. The position requires networking and collaboration with key leaders, devising and monitoring action plans.

The role would suit someone currently performing the role but looking for a more interesting, analytical position where they can be part of an upscaling growth plan. Alternatively it would also be an excellent opportunity for an FC/FD in the Education sector who is looking for the next step up.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

• Lead strong accounting and financial control functions, ensuring compliance with regulations

• Oversee all financial activities, including budgets, cash and assets.

• Create business plans and model scenarios in order to aid the growth of the company

• Monthly consolidated management accounts reporting to Chair of Trustees and Chair of Finance, Audit and Risk Committees

• Budget planning

• Provide due diligence to support company growth plans

• Lead financial management of capital projects

• Develop financial policies and strategies.

• Risk management

• Business partner with executive leaders to develop and execute strategies.

• Report directly to Trustees on the Trust’s financial health and regulatory compliance.

• Provide statutory accounts and make sure everything is compliant

• Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, deadlines, and monthly reconciliation.

• Main point of contact for audit

What the client is looking for:

• Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA

• Experience in the Education sector or a Charitable Trust preferable but not essential

• Experience reporting to the Board

• Management and statutory accounts preparation and analysis experience

• Budget review experience
