- Provide effective management and leadership for the Finance Team.
- Manage the functions of the Finance Team including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, online payments, general ledger, cash holdings and control accounts.
- Maintain relationships with external stakeholders including the College’s bank.
- Take responsibility for the administration of the College’s use of finance system.
- Implement improvements in the College’s use of the finance system.
- Support budget holders in budgetary control and provide user-friendly and timely financial reports for budget holders and management.
- Advise senior leaders on key financial matters.
- Develop and oversee financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure robust and effective financial controls are in place and complied with at the College.
- Ensure that all College income is maximised for the benefit of the students.
- Lead the budget-setting and financial forecasting processes.
- Monitor spend against budget in order to inform strategic decisions.
- Provide financial management to the Abacus Maths Hub and other initiatives that the College participate.
- Undertake financial analysis of College activities including the work with Higher Education and initiatives such as T-Levels.
- Supporting year-end accounting and audit processes for the College.
- Take responsibility for the timely and efficient preparation and submission of financial returns to the regulatory bodies.
- Ensure timely implementation of recommendations from Audit and Assurance Reports.
- Ensure any tax obligations are discharged correctly and effectively.
