This modern, fast-growing firm is ready to bring tax in-house for the first time – and they want you to lead the charge. You’ll shape the function from the ground up, delivering commercial, joined-up advice that helps ambitious clients make smarter decisions and grow with confidence.

Your Day-to-Day

Tax & Compliance

• Lead on all corporate and personal tax compliance – including CT600s, self-assessments, and VAT
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with legislation
• Identify tax planning opportunities, reliefs, and efficiencies to benefit clients

Advisory & Strategic Tax Planning

• Deliver proactive advice on R&D claims, group structuring, succession planning, and year-end tax strategy
• Act as a strategic partner to clients – guiding decisions, not just reporting outcomes

Collaboration & Commercial Input

• Work closely with the accounts and finance team to provide integrated, joined-up advice
• Feed into forecasting, business planning, and restructuring projects

Leadership & Development

• Mentor junior team members and help shape the firm’s internal tax processes
• Lay the foundations for future growth of the tax function and, potentially, your own team

Client Relationship & Growth

• Own a portfolio of high-value clients and act as their go-to for all tax matters
• Attend client meetings, networking events, and industry expos
• Champion a tax service that’s commercially smart, technically sharp, and brilliantly personable

About You

• You’re CTA qualified, with a strong background in practice and a hunger to do more than just manage compliance.
• You’re someone who wants to influence, not just advise. You thrive in strategic conversations, understand how tax fits into the bigger picture, and can confidently guide leadership teams through complex decisions.
• You're commercially minded, solutions-focused, and thrive on building strong client relationships. You’re also a natural mentor – someone who uplifts others, shares knowledge freely, and wants to help build something sustainable and successful.
