Job Title: Nurture Teacher PGCE with NT
Location: Lancashire and surrounding areas
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: £26 per hour
Contract Type: PAYE, minimum of 10 hours per week
Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Nurture Teacher to join our team immediately. The successful candidate will have a PGCE and QTS, along with experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role offers flexibility in working hours (flexi-time) and is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of students in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, tailored lessons to students in a nurture group setting, focusing on both academic and emotional development.
- Provide one-on-one support to students with SEND and SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive social and emotional development.
- Develop and implement personalised learning plans to meet the specific needs of each student.
- Work closely with colleagues, including teaching assistants, SENCO, and external specialists, to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and senior staff.
- Adhere to the school's safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring the safety and welfare of all students.
- Attend regular Nurture Teacher meetings and participate in ongoing CPD (Continuous Professional Development).
Essential Criteria:
- PGCE and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- Proven experience in teaching students with SEND and SEMH needs.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and practices.
- Ability to build effective relationships with students, supporting their emotional and academic development.
- Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
- Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance (required).
Desirable:
- Experience working in a nurture group or alternative provision setting.
- Training or qualifications in SEMH or SEND-specific interventions.
