PSV Technician needed

Our client, a leading provider of private coach hire services, committed to delivering safe and reliable journeys for their customers, is seeking for a qualified and skilled PSV Technician to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be in charge of inspecting and maintaining vehicles and will be given a responsibility in taking a lead role.

Role:PSV Technician

Hours:Day shift; flexible hours 40/45 hours a week

Location:Preston

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on a variety of PSV vehicles, including buses and coaches.
• Perform diagnostic checks to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Carry out vehicle inspections in line with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure vehicles are repaired in a timely manner, minimizing downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of all work carried out.
• Work with a team to ensure adherence to safety standards and guidelines.
• Provide support during MOT preparation and testing.

Requirements:

• Must hold a valid PSV Technician Licence (category [specify category, e.g., Cat D, Cat B]).
• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification (or higher).
• Proven experience in a PSV maintenance role, preferably with experience in repairing and maintaining buses or coaches.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to liaise with other departments.
• Full UK driving licence (preferably).

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with electric or hybrid vehicles.
• Additional qualifications such as City & Guilds, IRTEC, or similar.
