Production Planner

Food Manufacturing

Principal Objectives:

To plan, prepare and execute production schedules for the manufacture mixes and finished products across all ranges, while closely monitoring all stocks from raw materials to the finished products.

To support the Operations Manager in the direction of the production team with daily workloads, collecting data, and monitoring output.

Issue of relevant work orders and processing all works orders on completion.

Key Tasks (Specific):

Interpret the sales data / forecast into an operational production forecast, ensuring regular liaison with the relevant departments.

Analyse production requirements and factory capacity to create production schedules to meet customer demand and deadlines.

Monitor the execution of production plans and support with any potential issues with machinery, equipment and staff efficiencies.

Collate and assess data on production output, preparing reports and providing support to optimise manufacturing efficiencies and costs

Liaise with the purchasing department on ad hoc changes in planning outside the normal parameters that may affect stock.

Create and maintain Bill of materials

Manage stock levels for UK and Europe to ensure customer demand is met.

Preparing reports / data for potential new equipment / projects

Key Tasks (General):

To observe and conform with all company policies and procedures.

To assist and support the Operations Manager wherever possible in the delivery of the companys long-term goals.

To assist wherever possible all colleagues in the deliverance of their duties

To deal with all customers and suppliers in a professional manner befitting an employee.

Person Specification:

Enthusiastic, flexible and committed.

Polite, professional team player who is reliable, organised and punctual.

Effective communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships, and the confidence to challenge assumptions when appropriate.

Analytical and logical problem solver with a good eye for detail

Demonstrable experience in continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational functions.

Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office 365, with a good understanding of accounting systems in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to meet deadlines and work calmly under pressure.

Delegation skills, able to assess and delegate tasks in good time to ensure completion within required timescale.
