New opportunity for a Safety Engineer to join a leading Consultancy that supply individuals to defence and aerospace companies in the UK. The Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the safety of aerospace platforms, including aircraft, spacecraft, and their associated systems and subsystems. This role involves conducting safety assessments, hazard analyses, and risk management activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.

Due to the nature of the work, applicants will need either Active UK Security Clearance, or at a minimum a British Passport and eligible for UK Security Clearance

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Develop and implement safety engineering processes and methodologies for aerospace platforms.
- Conduct safety assessments, including Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), System Safety Analysis (SSA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Perform safety analyses and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and their mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain safety requirements and ensure they are integrated into system design and development processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations, such as ARP4761, MIL-STD-882, and DO-178C.
- Prepare and review safety documentation, including Safety Assessment Reports (SARs), System Safety Program Plans (SSPPs), and Hazard Logs.
- Collaborate with design, development, and testing teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated into all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Conduct safety reviews and audits to ensure adherence to safety plans and regulatory requirements.
- Provide safety input and support during design reviews, system integration, and testing phases.
- Lead or participate in safety-related incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to engineering and technical staff.
- Stay updated on advancements in safety engineering practices and regulatory changes.

**Qualifications / Experience:**


- Experience in safety engineering within the aerospace industry.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, including ARP4761, MIL-STD-882, and DO-178C.
- Proficiency with safety analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., FTA, FMEA, PHA).
- Experience with safety management systems and safety assurance processes.
