The School and Role

This School based in the Sheffield educates young people aged 11 to 19 with ASC (Autism Spectrum conditions) and communication and interaction difficulties.

This role requires a highly motivated, adaptable, committed, enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistant with great communication skills and a proactive approach to supporting the Class Teacher.  You will have experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs. You will work as part of a dedicated and committed team that have a child-centred approach in all they do.

Early years practitioners with the confidence of working with Secondary aged students is desirable for this role! 

Requirements

The desired SEND Teaching Assistant will have;

-          Experience of working with EYFS to post 16 aged young people

-          Experience of working with pupils with SEND and complex needs

-          A sound understanding of communication difficulties and behaviours that challenge  

-          Resilient, gentle, creative, and playful
