The RoleAs the Payroll and Pensions Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end payroll and pensions processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a first-class service to staff. This role is pivotal in maintaining operational excellence and driving improvements across the function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all payroll and pensions processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment for staff.
- Supervise and develop a team, providing ongoing training and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and organisational policies, including HMRC regulations.
- Deliver accurate month-end reporting, reconciliations, and statutory submissions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise systems, automate processes, and enhance service delivery.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of policies, procedures, and processes.

Essential Requirements:
- Substantial experience managing payroll and pensions in high-volume environments.
- Strong knowledge of HMRC and payroll/pensions legislation, including auto-enrolment.
- Proven team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- A CIPP Diploma in Payroll Management or equivalent qualification.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and drive change.
Desirable:
- Experience with public sector pension schemes such as LGPS, USS, or TPS.
- Knowledge of international taxation and education sector payrolls.
- Familiarity with iTrent or similar payroll systems.
